Rwanda basketball teams in camp

The men and women’s senior basketball teams are in camp preparing for this month’s Fiba Zone V Championships scheduled to be held in Dar es salaam, Tanzania on January 21.

 

The men’s team which has dropped senior players like Robert Thompson and Mathieu Miller because they have not been competitive without their clubs are training at Amahoro indoor stadium on Wednesday this week.

 

The female team is holding their training sessions at the National University of Rwanda in Butare, Southern Province.

 

The training sessions are comprised of only local players while professional layers are expected in town anytime from next week.

 

Professional players expected to join the men’s team include Canada-based Hamza Ruhezamihigo, Kenneth Gasana, Bradley Cameron Curtis, Dan Rugamba (Seattle Community College, USA), Isom Cedric (Primiero do Agosto, Angola), Brannon Darrius (Corr. Victoria, Mexico) and Bradley (Mississippi Gulf Coast College, USA).

 

Both teams are scheduled to depart for Dar es Salaam on January 19.
