Champions Espoir boost squad
The National basketball league champions, Espoir celebrating their title this year.
This year’s national basketball league champions, Espoir have boosted their side with recent signings of 17-year-old Steven Hatumintwari and Herve Kayitana, 18 from Petit Seminaire de Karubanda.
Coach Jean Bahufite told the media on Thursday that the pair has marked a new era where the club wants to involve young players in their quest for next year’s league season.
Hatumintwari and Kayitana, will be getting experience from the clubs veterans who include; Bievenu Ngandu, Aristide Mugabe and Kami Kabange.
“It’s important to strengthen our team in preparation for the title next year, they are good players and signing them is good but they still have to work hard and the fans should give them time”
“They will be good for the future; it would help us in the playoffs and upcoming season,” Bahufite said.
Unbeaten Espoir won their fourth national basketball league regular season title after trouncing 30-Plus 133-30 last weekend after winning all their 15 matches ahead of their weekend’s clash against last year’s champions KBC.
