REIGNING league champions Espoir basketball club will face Kigali Basketball Club (KBC) in this year’s final of the play-offs final which will be played on November 1 at Amahoro stadium.
Espoir defeated APR in a tight match which ended 59-51 on Friday night, however, the next day, Espoir came charging and thrashed the Kacyiru-based team 77-45 in a one-sided game.
“We are on track to accomplish our mission of finishing this season unbeaten as was the case in the previous one, we are looking forward to the finals,” Bahufite told local media over the weekend.
Espoir is yet to lose a game in the domestic league in two years and from the look of things, the status quo might prevail if KBC does not step up to the momentum expected in the post-season.
KBC which also walloped Rusizi 97-71 on Friday night and won 79-64 in Game Two on Saturday evening booked a berth to the final.
KBC’s head coach Cyrille Karima admits that it is a tough task ahead of him but he believes that his team is prepared for this stage and this is what they have been waiting for. If the regular season results are anything to go by then Karima is building castles in the air for Espoir defeated his side home and away in a convincing manner on both occasions.
“We are going to give this our very best and then we shall see how it goes,” said Karima.
